Polished Concrete Overlay
Looking for a high-performance flooring and wall-finishing system? Look no further than our concrete overlays.
What is a polished concrete overlay?
A concrete overlay is a thin layer of cement-based material applied over an existing concrete surface to improve its appearance, durability, or functionality.
Concrete overlays are versatile and durable solutions for resurfacing, refinishing, or repairing existing concrete surfaces.
The style possibilities are endless with completely customisable colours, aggregate exposure and finishes to suit any aesthetic preference.

Our Aggregate Colour Options
You can select from our extensive range of aggregate options to achieve a terrazzo-style finish by honing the surface to reveal the desired level of stone. Alternatively, if you prefer a plain finish, no aggregate is necessary. This flexibility allows you to customize the appearance of your concrete overlay to suit your specific design preferences.
Concrete Overlay Maintenance
Maintaining a concrete overlay is essential for keeping its polished and sleek appearance. The good news is that concrete flooring is relatively easy to clean and maintain, with just a few simple steps. By following some basic tips, you can keep your new floor looking great for years to come.
panDOMO® FAQ
The price varies according to the colour, condition of the slab, the size of the area and the sealer. Please note: if out-of-hours work is required this would incur additional costs
Important aspects to consider:
This unique floor, which has been handmade to craftsman standards, is subject to technical and artistic variations. Colour shadings, trowel marks and a slight cloudiness in the surface appearance are an intended effect, typical of the product.
Since this is an individually coloured product which reflects individual applicator techniques, differences in surface colour and structure (compared to the sample) are to be expected. Each floor is handmade and unique. Particular conditions such as lighting, colour of the walls and extension of the area can also modify the perception of the colour.

When panDOMO is thoroughly bonded to the substrate, movement or subsequent cracking of the substrate may reflect on the surface. The presences of pre-existing cracks and cracking resulting from unstable slabs can create subsequent cracks in the panDOMO floor.
Cracking is a natural occurrence in concrete, panDOMO finishes do not inhibit the concrete slab from cracking.
With the correct sealing system a panDOMO® floor conforms to Australian Standard R9-R13 slip rating.
We prefer to be the last trade in to install your new panDOMO floor, although it is best to install skirtings on top of the floor or after the installation.
Where this is not possible, the floor must be protected with breathable cloth and 3mm MDF boards or equivalent.
Expansion joints have to be installed to the perimeter whilst honouring any existing expansion joints in the substrate.
Preparation will vary for each floor. In general, it takes one day to grind, patch and prepare the substrate where required, plus priming and masking up the walls. Once the preparation is complete, our experienced panDOMO installers can comfortably pour an area of 1000 m2 in about half a day, in ONE application at 6 mm thick. On the third day we let the panDOMO cure. Depending on the scale of the area, we polish and seal on days 4 -5. On small jobs you are still looking at 3-4 days.
Yes, the sealer we use and the Ardex liquid colour pigments are UV stable and non- yellowing.
The liquid colour pigments are mixed right throughout the panDOMO® cement during application.
We have an extensive showroom based at Tuggerah, on the beautiful NSW Central Coast, which showcases a wide range of architectural seamless floor finishes. We are open by appointment only, so please click the link to make an appointment: info@honestone.com.au
We are happy to bring samples to you and discuss your needs.
Yes, provided the heating system (piped water or electrical) is within the concrete slab. Otherwise an specialised Ardex screed needs to be installed at 40mm thick, with at least 35mm thickness above the pipes/wires.
No, panDOMO® is only suitable for internal areas.
Yes. panDOMO Wall can be installed over almost new or existing sound and stable surface.
Yes, panDOMO® is suitable for kitchens.
For commercial kitchens Honestone recommends an epoxy sealer.
PanDOMO® can go into powder rooms, toilets and laundries but not the shower cubical.
The recommended substrate is new or existing concrete. If you have a specific requirement, please contact us for further information.
It cannot be installed over timber or aero-rated concrete.
panDOMO® Floors are 2mm – 6 mm and the panDOMO® Wall is 1mm – 2mm. panDOMO Terrazzo Micro is 12mm. If a thicker floor is required or to incorporate heating, we can install a levelling compound or screed and then apply panDOMO over the top.
The product is made in Germany. The panDOMO® System is a cement based mineral binder material made by Ardex and has excellent flow properties. When applied to the subfloor it provides a surface which can be polished and has special seal coats. The cementitious matrix is based on a white cement and the panDOMO cures by the Ardex exclusive Ardurapid system. For further information, contact info@honestone.com.au for a technical data sheet.
panDOMO® is an environmentally friendly, low VOC Certified, architectural product range of polished cement render, thin set toppings and terrazzo, using the latest cement based technology.
Pangea FAQ
The price varies according to the colour, condition of the slab and the size of the area. Please note: if out-of-hours work is required this would incur additional costs.

Preparation will vary for each floor. In general, it takes one day to grind, patch and prepare the substrate where required, plus priming and masking up the walls. Once the preparation is complete, our experienced installers can comfortably pour an area of 150 m2 (per team) in about a day, at 12 mm thick. The follow day we begin the grinding process. The floor is then refined through numerous polishing stages to a matte, satin or gloss finish. Depending on the size of the area, we polish and seal on days 4 -5. On small jobs you are still looking at 3-4 days.
Pangæa® PCV has been designed primarily as an internal floor covering, however can be used in covered outdoor areas. It is not suitable for paths, ramps, pool surrounds and driveway
If you choose Pangæa® PCV, which is mechanically polished there are no coatings to wear off, however every 2-3 years a clean, buff and re-application of the penetrating sealer will lift and prolong the lustre and life of the floor. Pangæa® PCV can have coatings applied much the same as traditional timber floors and should be cared for in much the same way, with the re-coat time dependant on the use of the floor. Generally a light sand and 1 coat is all that is required to return the floor to new condition.
Depending on the sealer or coating selected, Pangæa® PCV is very stain repellent. Harsh chemicals should be avoided when cleaning and only neutral cleaners should be used. Vinegar, lemon juice, sauces, and all acidic and high-alkaline chemicals
should be cleaned up promptly to avoid etching of the surface.
Pangæa® PCV is repairable and can be virtually invisibly mended if required due to unforeseen circumstances.
Pangæa® PCV in itself is not designed to expand or contract(it is dimensionally stable), it will however crack if there is sufficient movement in the substrate (surface) that it is laid on. No warranty is expressed or implied for cracking of Pangæa® PCV due to substrate movement.
As beautiful as Pangæa® PCV is, it is a hand-made and laid product and some minor imperfections may be noticeable under close scrutiny, i.e. uneven aggregate exposure, minor hairline scratches from the grinding/polishing process, pin-holes from entrapped air in the mix. These are considered part of the product’s character and design, which makes every Pangaea floor uniquely attractive and desirable. Please consult your Pangaea representative for samples that are indicative of the finish.
Pangaea licensed contractors will endeavour to minimise dust, however due to the nature of the initial polishing process some dust is inevitable.
As Pangæa PCV is a liquid-applied material, all cabinetry, furniture, skirtings, kitchen kickers, etc. should be removed. Up to 10mm space is required from all vertical surfaces due to the limitations of grinding/polishing equipment.
