Looking for a high-performance flooring system? Look no further than our Epoxy range
What is Epoxy?
Epoxy flooring is also known as resin flooring. This is because it is mixed on site from two compounds as part A and part B. The resin has a limited working time of about 20 minutes.
We roll it down as a paint, the key to achieving an even coating thickness comes down to experience. This is part of the reason why our team is highly sought after for epoxy industrial floor coating jobs.

Epoxy FAQ
Epoxy flooring is low-maintenance, requiring only regular sweeping or vacuuming to remove dirt and debris. For more thorough cleaning, you can use a damp mop with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid using abrasive cleaning tools or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the epoxy surface.
Epoxy flooring is safe and environmentally friendly when installed and maintained correctly. It is low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and can help improve indoor air quality. Epoxy flooring is also resistant to bacterial and mold growth, making it a hygienic choice for various settings.
Yes, epoxy flooring can be applied over various types of existing floors, including concrete, wood, and tile. However, it’s crucial to ensure that the existing floor is clean, dry, and properly prepared to ensure proper adhesion and a long-lasting finish.
It is important to contact Honestone early in the pre-construction or design stage to determine the best options for installation costs and longevity. If you are considering leasing or buying premises, get the floor inspected to avoid costly repairs. Early consultation can also help avoid potential issues, such as mechanic’s workshop concrete floors that have been soaking up oils for years, which may not be suitable for an epoxy coating.
Epoxy coatings typically last between one to five years in manufacturing plants before needing to be ground off and redone. For a longer lifetime, diamond grinding to create a polished concrete floor may be a better option.
The application of epoxy coatings is typically done in the afternoon when temperatures are dropping. Epoxy roller coating takes about 2 hours per 500 square metres. After application, the new resin floor needs to be allowed to cure.
Floor preparation is essential for any epoxy floor installation. Moisture testing and inspection are crucial to determine if the concrete floor is suitable for the epoxy coating. If there is too much moisture in the floor, a moisture barrier primer may need to be applied before the epoxy coating. Diamond grinding is also recommended to remove all contaminants and residues, resulting in a mechanical surface profile ideal for epoxy coating.
Honestone’s epoxy coating is an ideal choice for concrete floors in industrial and commercial settings. It creates a smooth, durable, and patch-free surface that can withstand heavy weight and large traffic. The coatings are also oil, chemical, water, and fire resistant, making them safe to use in facilities where potential chemical or wet spillages may occur.
Epoxy flooring is a type of flooring system that is made from a combination of resins and hardeners. It is commonly used in industrial and commercial environments because of its durability and resistance to chemicals, water, and fire.
